Mahathir Talks on Current Global Issues

Mahathir Bin Mohamad is now prime minister of Malaysia who is now in his 90s. The country altered some of the policies taken by the previous government led by Najib Razak. Najib borrowed a large sum of money, especially from China. The current administration has cancelled some of the past agreements. Lending money gives the lender an opportunity to influence, and this is not satisfying for an independent and sovereign country, Mahathir says.
Reporters asked Mahathir Mohamad his opinion on the ethnic cleansing of Rohingya. He thinks a state should not interfere in the internal affairs of the other country, for example, voting in an election. However, there must be a limit of the no interference. Mahathir told the media that military troops should be sent to Myanmar to stop dangerous ethnic cleansing. He also added if Malaysia starts to clean Indians or Chinese ethnic people, the World has the right to interfere in that event by sending military troops. In Myanmar, some of the Buddhist monks incite people to hate Muslims. They see Muslims have a higher birth rate. So finally, they will take over the country. Some monks interpret the holy book Quran in a wrong way, conferring Islam a violent and terrorist religion.
Mahathir Mohamad also talked on the migrant problem in Europe. He thinks, eventually, every country will be like Malaysia. Malaysia has an ethnically diverse population. The poor will come to the wealthier countries. In Malaysia, the ingenious people are living in harmony with people of Indians and Chinese ethnicity. The same thing is happening in the USA.
Mr Prime Minister also talked about President Donald Trump and advised him to be consistent.  Warfare is not the final answer for all crisis. He continued, China has a good chance of winning in the trade war, and other nations have to learn to live with China. He praises Chinese people seeing them industrious and hardworking.
