The BBC reported that Google services were shut down in those areas for about two hours. This is due to the fact that only a few fibers are cut together. Such incidents have also been reported as 'very unusual'.

Google claims that those areas were shut down for about five minutes. Search engine giant US has advised Internet service providers to connect with other Google servers to resolve the problem.

In a statement from the company, Google has made a rare claim of such an event, saying "only a few fibers can be cut together".

BBC Monitoring, on the other hand, confirmed that there were Internet connections in Bulgaria, Iran and Turkey for about two hours on Thursday morning.

Sajad Bonabi, director of Iran's Communications Infrastructure Company, said the two only cut together, one between Iran and Bucharest, and the other in Munich.

Internet traffic has been delayed due to a fiber cable being cut off in the region. But Bonaby said the traffic was routed through a "strong" connection between western and southern Iran.

No explanation has been given as to why the fiber optic cable is disconnected. A full report of the incident will be released in the next few weeks, Google has told the BBC.Earlier, the international Internet cable was cut off.

A 75-year-old woman admitted that she had damaged fiber optic cables connecting Georgia and Armenia during the copper lifting.
