This video shows the shooting down of the Ukraine plane

According to the United States and Canada, the plane that crashed near Tehran was shot down - possibly unintentionally. Iran demands clear evidence.

After this crash of a Ukrainian passenger plane near Tehran , Canada and the United States expect the plane to be shot down by an Iranian missile. An international investigation is now supposed to provide information about this. In addition to experts from Ukraine, Iran also wants to involve Boeing experts from the United States, Canada and France. The head of the Iranian Aviation Authority, Ali Abedsadeh, announced on Thursday evening on Iranian television.

The US traffic safety agency NTSB announced on Thursday (local time) that it would accept this invitation. A Boeing spokesman said on request that the company would support the agency if there was an invitation.

"We have information from multiple sources from our allies and our own information. This information suggests that the plane was shot down by an Iranian surface-to-air missile, ”Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said in a TV speech Thursday. This could have happened accidentally. 176 people were killed in the crash on Wednesday - including 63 Canadians.

"The news is undoubtedly another shock to the families (victims) who are already grieving at this indescribable tragedy," said Trudeau, repeating his call for a comprehensive international investigation. At the time, it was not yet known that Iran wanted to involve international experts beyond Ukraine.

"New York Times" shows video of suspected shooting
US officials also said on Thursday, citing satellite imagery, that the US government is now certain that the Boeing was shot down by an Iranian missile. It was very likely that Iranian air defense had been mistaken.

From security circles, it was also said that the United States examined the possibility that the Boeing 737 was accidentally shot down. The U.S. Department of Defense declined to comment.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Thursday evening a "body of information" indicating that an Iranian missile had been launched. "We work closely with Canada and our international partners and a full and transparent investigation is required," said Johnson.

The "New York Times" published a video that should show the shooting down of the plane a few minutes after takeoff in Tehran. The newspaper stated that it had verified the authenticity of the recordings. Accordingly, a small explosion can be seen when a rocket hits the plane. The plane still flies on and turns back towards the airport, already on fire, before it explodes and crashes.
